Bearberry leaves are found in woodlands on sandy hills, exposed rocks, eskers and rivers banks throughout Canada as far north as the tree limit and its common in Saskatchewan's Boreal Forest.
Bearberry leaves have been used in traditional medicine for a variety of health benefits including:
Urinary tract infection
- Antiseptic to treat infections in the bladder, urethra, and kidney
- Anti-inflammatory, Antioxidant due to their high phenolic compound content
Skin Health
- Used topically to reduce hyperpigmentation, breakouts and oiliness.

Bearberry is also known as Uva Ursi, which is Latin for "Bear's grapes".
